Ikbal Tokat, MD, FAAP
Founder
Dr. Ikbal Tokat is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Tokat is the founder of NuHeights Pediatrics, a group of patient-centric pediatric offices serving patients in New Jersey since 2013. Prior to founding NuHeights, Dr. Tokat has worked in Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units at the Long Island College Hospital and was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Tokat has also conducted extensive research and co-authored several publications while at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
With over 20 years of diverse medical experience and mother of three young children, Dr. Tokat is a passionate pediatrician who cares deeply that parents and children learn about the issues of growth, development, behavior, character education, preventive health, and management of illness while receiving the treatment they need.
Dr. Tokat has received her Medical Degree from Istanbul University Medical School and completed her Pediatrics Residency at the Long Island College Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

Mary K. Thomas, MD, FAAP
Managing Physician Partner
Following graduation, Dr. Thomas began a pediatric residency at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan. Throughout her residency training and while serving as Chief Resident, she continued to work with indigent and immigrant children and their families. She was an integral member of the renowned St. Vincent’s Cystic Fibrosis center and served on its Charity Board. Her work earned her the John Z. Jacoby Award for exemplary care of patients with CF. Dr. Thomas was an attending physician at The Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center in Manhattan, caring for children with rare genetic disorders and complex chronic diseases before ultimately moving to New Jersey with her growing family.
Dr. Thomas is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and believes that well care and good preventative practices play the biggest role in preventing illness. She also believes in taking into account how psychosocial influences, as well as illness, play a role in the wellness of a child. Her clinical focuses include pediatric dermatology and rashes, caring for children and families with special needs including LGBTQ youth and children with disabilities. Dr. Thomas also serves as Medical Director of Armada Health, helping patients with challenging diagnoses get to the right specialists to treat their disease.
Dr. Thomas currently resides in Montclair with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and cheering on the sidelines of her children’s activities.

Rana C. Matta, MD, FAAP
Managing Physician Partner
Dr. Matta is passionate about working with children and forming bonds with them and their parents with the goal of providing the best care possible to them and their families. She loves following children through all the different stages of growth and development as they grow into young adults and thrive. She is especially interested in preventive care, obesity and asthma.
Outside the office, Dr Matta loves spending most of her time with her beautiful son and husband. She and her husband are avid European soccer fans and she also enjoys reading, taking long walks, and exploring new places with her family. Dr. Matta is bilingual in both English and Arabic.

Jagdish Seth, MD, FAAP
Managing Physician Partner
Her special areas of pediatric interest include newborn care and adolescent care. Outside of the office, Dr. Seth enjoys reading old English classics and watching movies of the same. She also enjoys cooking different types of cuisines, playing with her kids and going on road trips with her family. Dr. Seth is board certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Lauren Brucia, MD, FAAP

Fatma Ergin, MD
Fatma Ergin, MD, was born in Istanbul, Turkey, where she pursued her passion for medicine at İstanbul University, Faculty of Medicine. After graduating, she completed her first residency in pediatrics and went on to practice as a general pediatrician and hospitalist in Istanbul for 11 years, gaining extensive experience in caring for children across a wide range of medical needs.
In 2016, Dr. Ergin moved to New Jersey with her husband and two daughters, where she continued her medical journey by completing a second pediatric residency at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Beyond her dedication to pediatrics, she enjoys cooking, reading, swimming, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
