Ikbal Tokat, MD, FAAP
Dr. Ikbal Tokat is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Tokat has received her medical degree from Istanbul University and completed pediatric residency at Beth Israel Medical Center-Long Island College Hospital in New York.
Dr. Tokat has worked in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Long Island College Hospital and was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center’s Long Island College Hospital. While at SUNY, Dr. Tokat helped train medical students as well as covered several pediatric practices in New Jersey as a locum tenens provider. Dr. Tokat has also worked with the Pediatric Gastroenterology team treating chronically ill children, conducted extensive research, and co-authored several publications while at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
With 15 years of diverse medical experience and mother of three young children, Dr. Tokat is a passionate pediatrician who cares deeply that parents and the children learn about the issues of growth, development, behavior, preventive health and management of illness while receiving the treatment they need.
Angelica M. Soto-Pereira, MD FAAP
Dr. Angelica Soto-Pereira is a Board Certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). She obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Rosario in Bogota, Colombia in 2006 and completed her Pediatric Residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center affiliated with the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. Prior to joining NuHeights, Dr. Soto worked at Children of Joy Pediatrics in Hackensack, NJ.
Dr. Soto works very hard every day to ensure that she provides the best care for all our patients and families. She believes in empowering parents and patients with the information and confidence they need to lead healthy lives is very important. Dr Soto is particularly interested in childhood obesity, with a focus on prevention and healthy life style changes for both her patients and families, as well as newborn babies, promoting breastfeeding and lactation support.
Outside of the office, Dr. Soto loves to spend time with her husband and two beautiful kids, as well as enjoys weight training, running and nature walks. She is bilingual in both Spanish and English.
John Ivan Sutter, MD, FAAP
John Ivan Sutter, MD, has been serving patients as a pediatrician in Clifton, NJ since 1982. For over 30 years, he has been providing quality pediatric care to the community, and continued to do so here at NuHeights Pediatrics. Dr. Sutter is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a past president of Affiliated Pediatric Associates, PA and served as Director of Pediatrics for General Hospital Center at Passaic in Passaic, NJ. He has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and New York Medical College.
Dr. Sutter earned his medical degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines and completed his pediatric residency at University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He received his Masters of Science in Healthcare Policy and Management from New York Medical College. He has also served in advisory committees for many managed care, physician organizations, and as a consultant for electronic medical record systems.
Dr. Sutter’s practice philosophy is to understand the family and patient in an attempt to provide the most effective care possible, to avoid unnecessary medications and provide optimal health care screening at all aspects of life. His extensive knowledge base and exceptional clinical experience in the pediatrics ensures your child receives the best quality care that NuHeights is known for.
Shiri Zofi, LPN, Office Manager
Shiri has a passion for Pediatrics. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse dedicated to providing excellent care to each and every child that walks into NuHeights Pediatrics. She believes in a holistic approach to nursing care, incorporating the patients’ family, culture, learning and psychological needs into individualized plans of care. Before graduating from nursing school at Eastwick College, she studied cultural diversity at Tel Aviv University and neuropsychology at Binghamton University. Shiri has pediatric experience in rehabilitation, chronic illnesses, acute care, preventative care and lactation education. She is a huge believer in continuing education, and is therefore currently back in school as well. She is completing her next degree on the “nursing ladder” with aspirations to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, all while dedicated to continually provide excellent care for your loved ones here at NuHeights.
Dee Bobenko, Head Biller
Dee is a licensed practical nurse with over 18 years of experience in Pediatrics. Prior to joining NuHeights Pediatrics, Dee has worked at St. Barnabas Medical Center’s Pediatrics Department, at Pinnacle Medical Group, and most recently was Office Manager and Nurse at Hackensack Pediatrics for the last 14 years.
Dee was selected Nurse of the Year in 2013 in Hackensack.
Medine Coser, CMA
With over five years of Pediatric experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), 2 years with NuHeights Pediatrics and as a mother of two, Medine provides quality care to our patients. Medine’s caring disposition, high skill level and efficiency is evident on every patient she cares for. Not only is Medine a CMA, but she is also a certified EKG technician and a Certified Phlebotomist, so you can rest assured that should your child need lab work, s/he is in the best hands. Medine’s exceptional work ethic and passion for patient care will always ensure that you and your family leave the office satisfied with the thorough care your child will receive and your children excited to return.
Leslie Luciano, CMA
Leslie is a Medical Assistant with experience of 7 years in Pediatrics. As a mother, she is very comforting to the patients and will hold your child’s hand when they are crying. She will assess your child’s vital signs, reason for visit, and any initial concerns you may have with regards to your child. She is fluent in Spanish and English and will assist our doctors with translation when needed. She is good at multitasking and is an excellent addition to our office.
Teagean Demetrius, CMA
Teagean is an experienced Certified Medical Assistant with a wide array of talents. She manages the reception area, answering phones, scheduling patients, and much more! If you have any general questions regarding our practice, she’s the one best suited to assist you. She’s the smiling face you’ll see greeting the patients as she checks them in, and also helps out our nurses and physicians with procedures and vaccinations as needed. As a mother herself, she is very understanding of our patients needs and is committed to providing excellent customer service and patient care to all our families at NuHeights.
Merve is an aspiring Pediatrician, graduated from Montclair State University in January 2015. Having been a babysitter throughout college and through working at NuHeights, she brings a unique skill set to our office. She’s bilingual in Turkish and English to help ensure quality and complete care for our families who need translations. With a warm heart, she’ll always be there to help comfort your child during their visit and assist you and your family in any way she can.
Gizem Comakcalar, CMA
Gizem is a certified Medical Assistant and continuing her education in Health Science. She is aspiring to be a RN in the future. Working at NuHeights Pediatrics has made Gizem feel more connected to kids. She is fluent in Turkish and English so your child will have complete care if your family needs a translator. She will comfort your children in their time of need.
